Calling all community minded history buffs!!!! The regular community dinner held on the third Thursday at St Andrews will be celebrating Canada’s 150th with an 1867 dinner on July 20th.

Costumes are not necessary but encouraged. Our menu will reflect what would have been served 150 years ago.

Please bring a very healthy appetite (as always!)

Canada 150 Duck Race –Sponsored by Royal Canadian Legion-Lanark Branch 395 and
Lanark and District Fish and Game Conservation Club. $10.00 per duck. Only 450 tickets will be sold. First Prize $500, second $250 and third $150.00 This is a joint fundraiser for both groups and the winners will be announced at the Legion. Entertainment and lunch available at this event.

Community Barbecue, Dance and Parade of Lights at
MERA in McDonalds Corners

On August 5th, 2017 you are invited to celebrate Canada's 150th at the MERA Schoolhouse (974 Concession 9A). McDonalds Corners Farmer's Market takes place as usual on the Schoolhouse grounds from 9 AM-1 PM. After that, we will hold a willow lantern repair workshop for those who need to repair/re-paper their lanterns to carry them in the parade at sundown. There will be a childrens' lantern workshop in the afternoon as well so children can make a simple lantern to carry in the parade. Everyone is welcome!

The barbecue dinner is by reservation (contact Marilyn at meraschoolhouse@bell.net). A dance will follow from 6 until 9 with everyone welcome and then the parade will start at the Schoolhouse and go down the main street of the village and back with lanterns and more. St. Paul's Anglican Church in Lanark celebrates its 175 Anniversary with special guests Archbishop Fred Hiltz, Primate of Canada and Bishop John Chapman of the Ottawa Diocese. Service at 10am followed by a reception at the Civitan Hall. For information, call Anne Graham at 613-259-2207.

Fundraiser for the McDonalds Corners Agricultural Hall. This event is a Quarter Auction and Dinner, $15.00 per ticket
includes a cold plate (2 meats/3 salads, roll & butter, dessert, tea or coffee)
and entry into the auction. Advanced tickets only.
Doors open 5pm, Dinner 5:30 pm and Auction starts at approx.6:30 pm
